The Mary Latshaw Award honors Fairfax Pets On Wheels volunteers who epitomize the goals of the program by giving of themselves through regularly scheduled pet visitations and other program support activities.

The Shauna Award recognizes the pet or pets who have made the most significant impact on a resident or residents of facilities visited by Fairfax Pets On Wheels.

Founder's Award Scholarship

The Fairfax Pets On Wheels Founder’s Award Scholarship is open to any student entering or attending an accredited degree-granting institution of higher learning on a full- or part-time basis. Preference is given to students pursuing a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Technician, and who demonstrate their dedication and interest in the human-animal bond. Applications are due by July 31, and the $500 scholarship is announced at the FPOW annual meeting in September. It is paid directly to the candidate based on written acknowledgment that the award will be used for the intended purpose.
